Fall for Pre-Fall and the New Diamond Cluster Ring

By Constance on July 19, 2016 at 12:07 pm

Sure, summer is still in full, sticky swing, but maybe you are like us and already pining for Fall?

Prefall Collection from Bario Neal

A sampling of the new Pre-fall line from Bario Neal.

If so, celestial clusters of ethical diamonds, custom-half-moons of Sri Lankan white sapphires, in stylized geometric shapes await in our new Pre-fall collection. Filled with bright stars, the showstopper of this mini-collection is by far the brightest: The Diamond Cluster Ring.

The new Diamond Cluster Ring, inspired by our Spring sensation, the Hex Sapphire.

This sparkly new addition is destined to be THE must-have ring this upcoming engagement season. Make sure to order soon to get in time for your ideal time to pop the question and prepare yourself for a very enthusiastic YES!  See more of the Diamond Cluster Ring here.

In addition to the soon-to-be classic Diamond Cluster Ring, we also have a new ring that is both a unisex engagement ring (just contact us if we don’t list your size) or just a sleek, modern accessory: the Half-Moon Black Jade Ring.

The Black Jade Half Moon Ring in 14KY and SS.

The new Black Jade Half-Moon Ring in sterling silver and 14kt yellow gold.

This contemporary ring features a stylized crescent shape, inlaid with custom-cuts of ethically-sourced, Wyoming Black Jade.

“Finding this Black Jade was a sourcing challenge that we feel good about. We were looking for traceable black jade or jasper for a while but to no avail, when we were referred to a family run Wyoming mine that mined and cut down the jade to our specifications, which are not a standard size.” –Page Neal

Speaking of custom-cut stones we feel great about, the other most-sparkly gems in the Pre-fall line are deceptively diamond-like, clear, white sapphires, sourced and cut from a small family-run mine in Sri-Lanka. These unique-to-BN, crescent-cuts, form the shape of our new Half-Moon Studs and Pendant.

Our exclusive new Half Moon Studs and Pendant in 14kt. yellow gold, make a strikingly modern, yet classic pair.

Also featuring inlaid Sri Lankan white sapphires and a half-moon shape are the new Umbra Studs. These graphic, bold earrings take the geometric-glam up a notch, but are still sleek enough for everyday wear.

Rounding out the collection are still more elevated, playful additions, like the return of our once limited-edition Bijou Stud’s mixed-metal illusion gemstones, now featuring a matching necklace.

Our Bijou Studs and Necklace in mixed-metals, sterling silver and 14kt rose gold.

These and the new Ruby Slice Pendant, add a pop of color, materiality and organic texture to balance out the atmospheric and ethereal vibes of the rest of the line. Also worth noting is a recent innovation in our fine jewelry collection– the addition of extenders to every necklace so that you can wear at various lengths– to create a choker or layered with other pendants.

If you are loving these, you might be wondering what’s in store for Fall. We promise it’s every bit as good as this, so stay tuned.

The New Hexagonal Sapphire Cluster Ring

Hexagonal Sapphire Cluster Ring

Introducing the dreamy new Hexagonal Sapphire Cluster Ring.

The concept of spring giving new life is one we fully embraced this year, choosing to debut the first part of our SS16 Lookbook, Spring Ceremony, highlighting an incredible new design– The Hexagonal Sapphire Cluster Ring.

The design combines a hexagon cut sapphire with an artfully clustered array of colored gemstones to create a gradient or ombre effect. Each hexagon is surrounded by an asymmetrically-placed champagne diamond, aquamarines, green-blue and seafoam sapphires. With an overall effect evoking a life-forming molecule, the Hex Sapphire Cluster ring is the perfect metaphor for a new beginning.

Hexagonal Sapphire Cluster Ring 14KY

The Hex Sapphire Cluster Ring looks great from any angle.

All of our gemstones are ethically sourced and of the highest quality, but these sapphires are special. In order for each gem’s inherent natural beauty and variation to shine, every arrangement is unique.

“Our hexagons are from Montana- go America! They are totally untreated from Gem Mountain. Each one is unique because they were cut in a way that saves as much of the original stone as possible.” –Anna Bario

Natural variations in Hexagonal Sapphires from Montana

Natural variations in color and shape will occur in these Hexagonal Sapphires from Montana.

This cluster ring of colored gems in a sea of blue-green hues is a cool addition to both Spring fashion and bridal looks. The Hex ring is perfect for a bride looking for an alternative ring that shows off a strong sense of personal style.

Spring Ceremony, Bario Neal SS16 Lookbook. The Avens Round Cut Ring and the Curved Narrow Half-Eternity Band.

More new designs appear in our Spring Ceremony story, inspired by an artist’s touch.

Delicate, yet statement-making craftsmanship inspired the theme of pigment-tinted fingertips and vibrant colors. We adore the idea of the wearer as painter or other artist, in the studio, creating their own work, while wearing one of ours. From the artists of our handcrafted jewelry, the creative process extends to the wearer of a Bario Neal creation.

Joining the Sapphire Cluster Ring in this Spring story are two new classic designs, the Avens Round Cut Ring and the Curved Narrow Half-Eternity Band. In creating the story, we also reimagined our recent colored gemstone designs in Opal and Andalusite, and staples like the signature Linear Diamond Ring, into a complete collection to spark imaginations this SS16 and for seasons to come.

Engraved Wedding Rings Tell a Timely BNLOVE Story

By Constance on February 14, 2016 at 2:59 pm

Arabic and Hebrew script intertwine in an engraved design rich with love and heritage.

Ali Abdallah and Sandy Schneider of Washington D.C., recently created engraved wedding rings that make our hearts swell. These matte finish Milla Bands are both engraved with the phrase “Nur Hayati” (Light of my life) in Arabic script. Then each has the other’s name engraved, his name in Arabic script on her 14kt white gold band, her Hebrew name in Hebrew script on his sterling silver band.

See these and more engraved wedding rings on our Personalizations page.

Wishing everyone love and unity this Valentine’s Day.

Bling in the New Year with Alternative Engagement Rings

By Constance on December 31, 2015 at 12:20 pm

The Baguette Solitaire Ring, a little bling goes a long way

A little bling goes a long way with the understated Baguette Solitaire Ring.

This New Year, we celebrate all that glitters AND all that is gold, all for under a $3K price tag. This round-up of some of our favorite alternative engagement rings include tons of sparkle for those of you that love your bling, but still want to say “Yes” with a little more personality (and sustainability) than your average bride. From the industry’s first ethical baguette diamond (see above!) to alternative gemstones, like sapphires and quartz, we love to create rings that satisfy the non-traditional side, but remain as timeless as your love.

The Rose Cut Filigree ring has vintage appeal.

Our Rose Cut Filigree ring has timeless appeal and sparkle for days.

This contemporary version of an antique filigree ring features a bezel set, pink, rose cut sapphire for the offbeat bride with vintage elegance on her mind.

The Herkimer Ring is pure magic.

The Herkimer Ring: pure quartz magic for a crystalline union.

The Herkimer Ring is reserved for the most badass of betrothed. A low-set solitaire ring, featuring a double-terminated quartz, also known as a Herkimer diamond, mined in upstate New York. It also starts at just $750.

Sapphire Half Moon in Rose Gold, an alternative engagement ring

The Sapphire Half-Moon Ring is an alternative engagement ring that needs no diamond to shine.

Sparkle abounds in this alt-bride’s dream ring. It conjures Gatsby-era, custom-cuts, with a distinctly modern approach, featuring 100% sustainable white sapphires from Sri Lanka. This the newest of our engagement ring designs on the list, creating a new gold standard for gemstone and diamond-alternative engagement rings.

The Linear Diamond Ring: packing maximum bling for the buck.

Last on our list is our top seller of 2015, the Linear Diamond Ring. This ring says forever without the trappings of tradition. Modern brides know that a diamond doesn’t have to be a whopper to have impact, favoring instead to have a comfortable, low-set array of stones in various cuts and sizes. Further proof that diamonds can also be “alternative” by remaining low-key, sustainable and affordable– the Linear Diamond Ring starts at just $2,420.

Thanks for reading and following us as we share our news, successes and milestones, including the landmark legalization of same-sex marriage. Cheers to another year of creating beauty through new traditions!

LoveWins our BNstory Photo Contest

grand prize Broad street proposal

LoveWins! A giant congrats to our Grand Prize winner of the ‪#‎BNstory‬ Photo Contest, Ashley Gyuriska

“It was important for us to find a jeweler and rings that were in line with our values and ethics. We heard of Bario Neal through the community and we fell in love with their jewelry. On June 26, 2015, the Supreme Court of the United States legalized same-sex marriage. It was on that day that Monica decided to propose to me with the Knottedrush ring. For my proposal to Monica, I decided it would be on August 21 at Broad and Walnut. A year ago on that day, I knew this was the perfect spot as we walked through the crowds at Dîner en Blanc. It was at that moment that I knew I had to spend the rest of my life with her. This picture captures that proposal, as I slipped the Baguette solitaire Ring onto her finger, passersby cheered us on, cars honked in celebration, and strangers congratulated us. We are so incredibly happy and cannot wait to get married in June 2017. We are absolutely getting our wedding rings from Bario Neal!”

We are feeling so much love and pride over here. Thanks again to everyone who participated, we are really honored you chose to share your incredible moments with us and our followers. Our BNstory page is coming soon to the Bario Neal website, in the meantime

Matching Wedding Rings?

By admin on March 9, 2012 at 3:08 pm

Do I have to have a matching ring & metal to my fiancé? What if we like different things?

While the option of getting matching bands made for you and your partner is certainly there, it’s also quite common for couples to get bands in different styles or metals.  A wedding band is a significant, weighted object that will be worn for a very long time.  It is important that you each find a band that you will be able to wear comfortably everyday.

We offer bands that compliment each other well if you are concerned with having the bands relate to one another. If you are each interested in a different metal or width than each other it is definitely possible for the bands to still have a common thread in style and aesthetic and vise versa.

Another option to bring a common ground to the bands is to get them engraved. This is a great way to bring a personal element to each band whether they are similar or not.

The most important thing is that each person is wearing a band that they love and want to wear forever. Your band should be significant to you and reflect your own personal style.  If you and your partner do agree on matching rings we are more then happy to accommodate sizing the bands appropriately.

Reticulated Band

In the past we have had customers choose the Reticulated Band and the Reticulated Narrow Band One. These bands are not the same but have a very similar texture and style. We have made many variations of this style band and, as always, are ready to work on any custom ideas you may have to make a band that you will never want to take off.
