Cup Of Jo x Bario Neal
At Bario Neal, we recently had the immense pleasure of collaborating with Joanna Goddard of Cup Of Jo, a flourishing lifestyle blog covering a wide array of topics including food, travel, relationships, fashion and everything in between. Joanna came to us with the hopes of reimagining an heirloom in celebration of a new life chapter. We were more than happy to do what we do best, and transform her gems into something for her to cherish for years to come.

Following a recent divorce, Joanna had a gorgeous engagement ring that she simply wasn't reaching for. Ultimately, she was looking to honor her past while looking forward to an abundant future through a modern make-over. Since we were designing her pieces from scratch, Joanna completed our Custom Design Questionnaire, in which she shared her preferred metal, cut, gems, and price range, before working with our designers on next steps.
Working with our Co-Founder & Lead Designer, Page Neal, we asked Joanna for some inspiration; a little visual mood-board accompanied by existing Bario Neal designs that struck her fancy. Paired with the information from the questionnaire, the mood-boards help our designers get a sense of what a client likes and dislikes in order to come up with design ideas that really resonate with the client's personality and align with their lifestyle.

Joanna found herself drawn to the color blue and more asymmetrical ring design, as well as cluster stone layouts and modern curves. Building off of the inspiration and Joanna's style, Page and the Bario Neal production team used CAD (Computer Aided Design) to build 3D models of some ring concepts for Joanna.

Joanna ended up falling in love with the Radial Cluster Diamond Ring and decided to move forward with a stone variation that used stones from her heirloom ring, as well as stones we have ethically sourced. Curated to suit her color palette, her ring includes a sustainably certified carbon-neutral lab-grown diamond, aquamarines sustainably sourced from Brazil, and a recycled champagne diamond. Still having stones left over from her heirloom ring, Joanna decided to move forward with a custom design concept from Page and apply it to a coordinating pair of earrings. During a visit to the showroom, we were able to show Joanna different gemstone layouts and rearrange the gems together until we landed on the perfect fit. Next, our talented production team at our Philadelphia studio got to work!

It was such a privilege and joy to work with Joanna on such a meaningful redesign. We believe the custom designs delivered on the timeless yet modern elegance Joanna was looking for, and in the process turned a treasure from her past into treasures for her future.
