Introducing the Prismic Collection: Where Geometric Precision Meets Timeless Artistry

Bario Neal, the jewelry design studio renowned for their pioneering efforts in sustainable custom craftsmanship, is excited to announce the launch of their newest collection, The Prismic Collection. Driven by customer demand and inspired by structural and architectural elements, this striking jewelry line introduces distinctive geometric stone cuts and intricate band designs. Showcasing the brand's commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional jewelry aesthetics, these complex angular cuts and expertly crafted stone settings are the culmination of 16 years of refined artisanal expertise.

“Angular rings have been rising on customer demand, and we wanted to make them in a way that’s distinctive to Bario Neal. So much on the market is a basic solitaire ring, so we decided to play up more geometric stone cuts and more visually interesting bands. We also knew we wanted to incorporate glass enamel — a forgotten heirloom art that is really unique to our work. That addition underscores our dedication to preserving traditional crafts while pushing the envelope of contemporary design. We’ve always prided ourselves on our ability to blend classic techniques with modern aesthetics, and this new line is no exception,” says Co-Founder Page Neal

Anna Bario, Co-Founder of Bario Neal, added, “Playing with, and expanding our form language, is really what this collection is all about. We wanted to build out bands that created a ‘V’ shape in a different way, using gemstone shape to build a silhouette. This new release expands our internal iconography of how we generally integrate stones and color combinations. We wanted to take that internal design language that we’ve built and challenge ourselves to broaden it to new directions. We’re excited to see how our clients will incorporate these bold, architectural elements into their personal style.”

Sustainably Sourced Gemstones

Before Gen Z sparked the current interest in high-quality, unbranded gemstones, Bario Neal was already dedicated to ethical sourcing. They use Canadian and antique diamonds, as well as sapphires from Montana and Australia. Each stone is carefully selected for its unique shape, color, and origin. “Aside from their designs, what makes these rings so special is that no two will be the same. Each person will have the opportunity to select their unique stone,” says Design and Production Director, Aliyah Gold.

Innovative Craftsmanship

Each design of The Prismic Collection starts as a CAD model, with unique stones carefully integrated into the design. For designs where the stones do not change in size or shape, like the Myriad Diamond Band, a prototype mold is created to reproduce the ring via lost wax casting. However, for rings where each stone is unique, like the Icon Kite Cut Ring, individual images of each stone must be taken to trace and build the CAD model around.

“Unique cuts are a little more challenging than, say, setting a round brilliant cut diamond in a traditional 4-prong setting,” explained Aliyah Gold. “But as our stone setting skills have advanced over the 16 years we have been in business, we are excited and confident we can take on these new pieces.”

Fashion and Styling At Large

As mentioned above, The Prismic Collection was designed with overall fashion and personal style in mind — made for versatility, perfect for stacking, and complementing a wide range of fashion trends. “We love how clothing silhouettes have really opened up the last few seasons, whether it’s cropped tops and wide leg pants, or an oversized tunic with bike shorts, a big shoulder or more classic draping… these new styles are designed to work in both contrast and/or cooperation with them,” says Anna Bario

Some are intended to stack together like the Fusion Ring and Band. Others are made to be different takes on curved bands like the Cascading Princess Cut Diamond Band or the Trillion Curved Diamond Band, which gives a new look depending on the direction you wear it. The Senna Diamond Toi et Moi Black Enamel Ring works well paired with just about any solitaire ring and is our modern take on an antique two-stone ring. The flat side of the Icon Kite Cut Ring allows it to stack with anything.

“What we like about these settings is that they are durable, they protect most of the edges or corners of the stones, and most of these rings have a low profile so they are great for someone with an active lifestyle, works with their hands, or wears gloves often,” says Aliyah Gold.
